Trevor Wagler is co-owner/Director of Renaissance School of the Arts, as well as a freelance French horn player (both modern and historical instruments), conductor, organist, composer, arranger/orchestrator, music editor/copyist and clinician.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Composition, a diploma in Performance, and a diploma in Chamber Music from Wilfrid Laurier University, and a Masters of Music degree in horn performance from Western University. He has performed with many Canadian orchestras and chamber ensembles, including the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, the Canadian Chamber Ensemble, Tafelmusik, Orchestra London, the Hamilton Philharmonic, the Nota Bene Period Orchestra, and the Windsor Symphony, as well as the Stratford Festival and Drayton Entertainment.

Trevor currently teaches Musicianship Skills and French Horn Techniques at Wilfrid Laurier University (Faculty of Music), where he has also taught Orchestration and French Horn studio lessons. He is the conductor of the K-W Symphony’s Youth Concert Band (part of the KWS Youth Orchestra Programme) and the historic Waterloo Concert Band, as well as the organist at both Zion Lutheran Church in Philipsburg and St. James Lutheran Church in Baden.

While maintaining an active performance schedule, Trevor is also a busy arranger/orchestrator and composer. His work has been performed by symphony orchestras (and smaller ensembles) across Canada and around the world, and has been broadcast nationwide on CBC radio. Recent commissions and performances have included orchestrating (and conducting) The K-W Symphony Presents KW Glee Live! (2015) at the Centre in the Square (Kitchener), as well as new music for the KWS, the National Arts Centre Orchestra, the Toronto Symphony, the Vancouver Symphony, the Edmonton Symphony, the Kingston Symphony and the Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Orchestra.

Trevor is a member of the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN), the American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada, the International Horn Society, the Historic Brass Society and the National Geographic Society, and is currently the brass advisor to the Kitchener-Waterloo Kiwanis Music Festival.

Trevor resides in Waterloo, Ontario with his lovely wife, flutist Wendy Wagler, and three fabulous children.
