Diploma in Opera
Amanda Wilhelm – mezzo soprano, studied at Wilfrid Laurier University with Canadian artists Daniel Lichti and Kathleen Brett. She attained both an Honours Bachelor of Music in voice performance, and a diploma in Opera. She is currently a resident of Kitchener-Waterloo and is studying with Victor Martens. On the concert stage, Amanda has performed Handel’s Messiah across Ontario, as well as, Mozart’s Requiem, Schubert’s Mass in E-flat, Duruflé’s Requiem, and Charpentier’s Messe de Minuit. With her training in Opera, she has sung many diverse roles including: Madame Armfeldt in Sondheim’s A Little Night Music, Madame deCroissy in Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites and the Sorceress in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. As well as excerpt roles of Carmen in Bizet’s Carmen, Orlofsky in Strauss’s Die Fledermaus, Dorabella in Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutte, Addie in Blitzstein’s Regina, and Madame de la Haltière in Massenet’s Cendrillon.
