Mikhaila has been studying piano since the age of five. She completed her grade 10 RCM practical exam at the age of 17 before attending Wilfrid Laurier University. There, she studied piano under Joseph Ferretti for four years. After graduating in 2015, Mikhaila moved to Montreal where she attended McGill University in pursuit of her M.A. in Music Education. Upon completing her coursework, she returned to Waterloo where she continues to write her Master’s Thesis on the cultivation of creativity through private piano lessons.

Apart from classical music, Mikhaila is also interested in rock and musical theater. She has been a cast member of several musicals, and was the vocal director of two shows produced by Laurier Musical Theatre. She has also been a member of several choirs, including the Maureen Forrester Singers, and was the lead singer of a rock band based in Montreal.

Mikhaila has been working with children for most of her adult life. She has taught group and private piano lessons for the past six years, and has extensive experience volunteering and working as a camp counselor.  In her free time, Mikhaila enjoys painting, drawing, singing, songwriting, and music production.
